The Moxie Podcast

Jun 25, 2020

Kimberly Huffman is a Texas girl who moved to Kenya 15 years ago in pursuit of her heartfelt purpose to love on women and children in marginalized and war torn villages. She is best known as the co-founder of Mattaw Ministries which is a non-profit organization based in Kitale, western Kenya. Growing up in church(Baptist) brought awareness of missions though in a distant way since there was never really any personal connection. Kimberly’s passion to care for the marginalized developed from her childhood. At 16, her passion and vision was steered forward by a special on CNN on the war in Congo. After much involvement with missions within various organizations, it opened a path for her that led her to Kenya. It was here where she actualized her vision by co-founding the Mattaw Children's Village and the girl’s rescue center.

In this episode, Jenny and Kimberly talk about missions and what it means to intentionally and unconditionally love those in less privileged positions. They further talk about the joyous part of seeing these children embrace their lives and live their childhood with so much vigor regardless of whatever disabilities they may have. It is emotional.
